Pauline Shumate

Pauline "Birdie" Shumate was born May 19, 1874 in Sampsel Twp., Livingston Co. She was a daughter of William H. Shumate and Martha Susan Hale. She never married and lived on the home place her entire life. For years, she wrote a column "Along County Lanes" for the Chillicothe Constitution-Tribune. She died September 17, 1963 and is buried in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
