John A. Ryan, born 1863, was a partner with Rudolph M. Cross (1862-1948).
Their general store was in the two-story frame building on Mooresville's Main
Street. The partnership was dissolved in December, 1898, when Mr. Cross
suffered a sun stroke. Mr. Ryan then moved to Chillicothe where he served
as circuit clerk. "John Ryan, circuit clerk elect, is moving from Mooresville to Chillicothe." --Weekly Chillicothe Mail and Star, Dec. 1, 1898. |
