| Glenn Hayward operated a barber shop in Mooresville for many years. He is shown here with "Uncle Ump" Hudgins, a Confederate veteran of the Civil War. Humphrey came to Missouri in November, 1842. He delighted in talking to Mooresville school groups about his exciting trek to the California gold fields but he never mentioned the Civil War. Pupils were cautioned not to ask him about the war. |
