Commodore Ingram (1824-1900)
Faith Healer

Although he never attended school, he referred to himself as Dr. Ingram in reference to his chosen occupation. This is his calling card. The Ingram family lived in Mooresville's Fourth Addition, more commonly known as "Springtown" because of the nearby Mooresville Mineral Springs. Many of the people who believed the mineral water had curative powers also believed in faith healing, so Dr. Ingram did a brisk business in Mooresville.
