| At age 42, "Jack" was 5'9" with dark hair, hazel eyes and dark complexion. His first wife, Ellen Sarah Parks, died in childbirth at age 21. His second wife, Mildred L. Gudgell, was twenty years his junior. That marriage was considered one of "convenience" by the family. After Mildred died at age 33, Jack married Nancy C., widow of Charles Hamblin. |
