The congregation was organized July 6, 1879, with 29 original
members. The building was erected in 1891. Humphrey Hudgins, owner of the
church lot, originally intended that the ground be used as a Confederate
cemetery. The two graves in front of the building were there long before the
building was put up. The church is still in regular use in 2002. |
