Maple Grove School
Livingston County, Missouri

This school building is about three miles southwest of Utica, in the southeast corner of Section 25, Township 57 North, Range 27 West. The land was purchased from Ralph Weatherby in 1882 for $100. The building faces east. There is a well with pump, as well as a hitching rack, on the south side of the building. Some of the first pupils planted maple trees on the grounds, thus the name Maple Grove.

This photo of the abandoned school was taken in March 2002.
