Felix was a tall, handsome man with red hair and blue eyes. When Miss Mary Holding, age 17, came to Mooresville to visit relatives it was told that Felix "swept her off her feet." They were married after a very short courtship. Her family disapproved.

He was Mooresville Postmaster 1895 to 1897.
